Whistler/Blackcomb Holiday Ski Resort was not even in existence some 40 odd years ago. There was virtually nothing on this now world famous ski resort but blizzards caused by the moist Pacific air meeting the craggy mountain tops on what was then known as the London Mountain. Sometimes, one can see an occasional lonely skier using a rudimentary tow or hiking up the slopes of the mountain.
This resort was renamed Whistler Mountain in 1965, named after the hoary marmot or the whistle pig. Today, this holiday vacation resort is one of the most popular and celebrated holiday ski resorts in the world.
Whistler Ski Village
The Whistler Village is an attractive, all purpose built-in resort and is known for its fascinating skiing vacations. This Ski Resort is also known as Whistler Blackcomb because of the two mountain peaks stood side by side and has the highest vertical drop in the country, both a mile high. A breathtaking and heart stopping drop indeed.
Although always complimented upon, Whistler Resort has its cons too. One of which is its low elevation. At only 2214 ft, the resort comes under the influence of the Pacific seaboard and tends to attract more rain than other resorts. Although this also attracts more snow on the mountain’s higher slopes, the prospect of going skiing in the wet is a dampener to the skiing vacation holiday mood.
For years, Whistler and Blackcomb were two entities and were fierce competitors until Intrawest, a major player in the ski resort industry and owner of Blackcomb bought over Whistler in 1997.
The two mountains are actually quite similar with each having more than a ski hundred trails many of which are long cruising runs through stunning pine forests. However, Whistler has more bowls such as The West Bowl, Symphony and Harmony while Blackcomb has glaciers like the Horstman. Blackcomb also have more couloirs such as the Couloir Extreme and Pakalolo.
Toward the bottom of the Extreme are two quad chairs, the Glacier Express and the Jersey Cream Express lies a magnificent collection of chutes and gullies which spreads across the mountain.
The Whistler Ski Holiday Resort also have an area for novice heliskiers. Intrepid heli-skiers can try it for a day before venturing into one of the remote heliskiing lodges for a whole week of heliskiing with Bell 210 or AStar helicopters. Then again, with such fantastic vertical drop in Whistler Ski Resort, who needs helicopters right?
Help answer the question about holiday vacation
When computing hours for Overtime pay in a workweek, are vacation/holiday hours supposed to be included?Example: Workweek is Thurs-Wed. Employee works Thurs 8, Fri 10 & Sat 8, vacation on Mon 8, & Wed 8, Holiday Tues 8. Do you count Vacation days & Holiday as 24 hrs + 26 hrs worked = 50, of which 10 is OT, or 26 of 40 "worked", no OT?
Yes I am driving up to Mungo National park 100 km north east of Mildura Australia. It is a neat desert area with some amazing scenary and I will be camping there. Are you sure that you would not like to come along?

go to http://www.blessedliving.worldventures.com
u are expected to get almost at least 30% cheaper then any other place u check
Agreed!
If I could move there, I would, no hesitation.
If you have the request forms that you & she signed specifically asking for the time to come out of your vacation time, the company has to respect the request. I suggest taking the forms or faxing them to your HR person/Treasurer to get the problem corrected. It may take a while for them to correct the problem, but legally they have to correct it.
I’m off there in 10 days AND CAN’T WAIT !!!
Woooooo Hooooooo
I would go to Hawaii or Austraila. Hope you have a good vacation.
I wouldn't take loads of pairs of shoes. If you already have trouble packing the necessities, just put 1 pair of shoes on your feet, put 1 pair in your suitcase, and take some sandals if you expect to use them.
As for a checklist; see the link below. I am one of the owners of a travel website, and we have put the checklists that we always use ourselves online. There's loads of other information about travelling too. I assume that you go by plane, but I will add a link to car checklists just to be sure
Hope this helps, have a nice trip!
OMG, this is AWESOME!!!! Was in Barbados 2 weeks ago and am missing it SOOOO much! This song brought tears to my eyes, no joke <3
One single, beautiful, interesting image.
Take note – there are no "British" words, we speak English, you speak a corrupted version of the same.
Holiday – originally Holy Day – now means a non working day,
vacation is an american word.
I went there for my xmas vacation and SOOO Love this sea island that is so far away. I love the people, bright smiles everywhere, unlike other touristy destinations,. Where did you find this song? It’s blends perfectly well.
I live in Barbados….BIM FTW !!!
sucks for u
Moab (Arches) is gorgeous that time of year – though it does get a bit cold in some of the areas.
Las Vegas has a lot to see and do – not sure how sold out the shows are for that time – could be a hard ticket.
Yellowstone isn't too far away, if you like the outdoorsy kind of stuff.
St George is a nice getaway place.
Salt Lake City is really close and has much to see and do for the holidays.
I've stayed at the Johnson Mill Bed and Breakfast in the Heber area – that's nice, though not much to do.
i liv there@@@@@@@@@2
