The information about travel, safari, travel tips presented here will do one of two things: either it will reinforce what you know about travel, safari, travel tips or it will teach you something new. Both are good outcomes.
Before stepping on that plane for a marvelous safari adventure, plan like there’s no tomorrow. You will thank your self for being precautious when faced with untoward incidents. Here are the important things you should consider when going on a safari travel:
1. Remember that it is one challenging endeavor.
Planning a safari can be one of the most exciting feats one can ever manage to make happen. It is not one of the generic travels, usual jetsetters indulge in. Though you are provided with a tour brochure and a tourist guide, it still is better to research on your own regarding the various itineraries.
2. Best spots for safari should be spotted. The most suggested parts of Africa to enjoy safari include East and Central Africa, Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Islands.
3. Prepare for the climate. It is a must to know the seasonal trends and how they will affect your travel. But also remember that the weather is fickle-minded so you can never really accurately predict the outcome of your travel if you will base it one the weather alone. If you are going to visit East and Central Africa, long rains start early in April to early June. Short rains abound during late November to December. Southern Africa has its rainy season from late November through mid-April for the safari areas. However, during that time, it will be summer in Southern Cape. When one prefers Indian and Ocean Islands he or she can expect the seasonal trend to be more like of that of Southern Africa. In these islands, summer rains last from November through April. Cyclones can also be experienced during those seasons. From May to October, the dry season occurs.
4. Choose your activities. Among others, safari traveling offers these fun-filled activities: a. gorilla trekking b. sailing c. birdwatching d. participatory camping e. self driving
5. Know what you can afford. When choosing a trip, budget constraints should never be overlooked. Decide on a price range that you can work on. To make your budgeting more effective consider the level of luxury of your safari travel, length of your trip, activities, accommodations preferences, meals and season. 6. Determine your travel style. Do you prefer your safari to be more luxurious, moderate or rustic? Will you let kids tag along? Are you traveling with a group or will you be one bold, independent traveler? Will you travel by air or road? What about your guide and your vehicle? Answering those questions will more or less improve your overview of your dream safari travel. Have fun!
This article’s coverage of the information is as complete as it can be today. But you should always leave open the possibility that future research could uncover new facts.

hi there,
Good to hear that you want to come for a one week safari to Kenya. I am a tour guide / consultant in Nairobi Kenya specialising last minute and budget safaris. I can assist you with your safari. Your UK driving licence can be used locally here. The cost for self-drive car for one week rental will cost you about US$ 880.(fuel not included). For the safari i will need you to be more specific like your main areas of interest and the type of accommodation you require but i can give you a rough estimate of US$ 3000 (car included). This is a really rough estimate. Depending on what you want we can work out the specifics feel free to consult me further. Don't worry about the floods there are no floods currently. The Safari circuit is quit safe. For accommodations you need to get prior bookings i can do this for you once we confirm the dates. Get me at xkcox@yahoo.com for further consultations. Waiting to hear from you soon.
Start to really looking at rates about 6 weeks out. If they don’t drop in price over the next two weeks (nearing the 4 week window), they’re likely at the lowest price already. If it’s still too much, you might want to try an auction-type site like Priceline.
Try and book your safari thru http://www.africanmeccasafari.com (try finding it on google), they are really good, and go to a place called shompole, masai mara. you will not go wrong, you can check the place out on google too. Its the most wonderful safari ever, as iv been to 6 different ones. You'll need lots of insect repellent, and lots of sun block. And fly emirates, it is the only airline that i trust!
enjoy! i envy you, i wish i was going!!!!
why you do not try to build your own website to present your safari for every one, then you can give your website address to other tour operator around the world to put your website address in a link on them for safari trips!!!! you can visit this websites as they can host your website..

i won’t fly until the fares are reasonable again and i’m not charged for carry on or checked luggage, allowed to bring my bottled water or juice aboard and not have to buy a cup of filthy airline tap water or argue with the agitated disturbed in the head flight attendants why i’m asking for refill the 8oz styrofoam cup because i just had one and i have to choke on my home-made meal because i’m not allowed to be thirsty and ask for refills. FUCK THAT!!! and when will checkpoint humiliation end?!
airhead
I wouldn't bother with it if I were you. You'll want to be able to get around without much hassle, and besides, the less you have with you, the better.
Take a mosquito net to sleep under. And wear a hat.
around here Wine tastings are great places to safari
wow… thanks for the worthless information.
…best way to save on international (Europe) fares is to mail yourself to the country of your choice.

There are a number of good ways to safari in Tanzania. You may arrange a private itinerary, typically one that encompasses the Northern Circuit of Tarangire and/or Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti with possibly some other stops along the way depending on your interests. On such a trip you could have a private guide who drives you the entire way although it can be convenient to fly to or from the Serengeti to start or end the trip. After finding a great guide the most important consideration is what part of the Serengeti is best for the time of year you are traveling.
A second option is to join on a group departure. This will be cheaper as you are splitting the shared costs of the guide/driver and they can run on a smaller profit margin since they have volume. Biggest concern is to make sure they include the best areas for the time of year as some group trips hit the same spots all year long and could be far from the best seasonal areas to experience the Great Migration.
One other option is a fly-in safari. This can be best if you have a short amount of time or if you want to go to a more remote park. Tanzania has some real out of the way gems that are much less visited than the Northern Circuit. Selous, Ruaha, Katavi, Mahale and Gombe (the latter two are known for chimpanzees) are all remote and spectacular areas. You can fly to reach such parks and then a guide from your safari camp will pick you up and you will share activities with other guests.
I provided a link to my safari blog – which provides tons of safari related information (you can also ask me questions directly from the blog) – as well as a link to a ton of great travel professionals that can assist you with making plans to traveling to Africa.
Hope that Helps!
If the safari is not included in hotel price you may need about 400 usd, so you don't be tide, but don't forgett to ge MALARIA medicine and mosquito repellent, and back to the safari you will sleep in camps, and if you want to really enjoy your time remember that the beauty of a country is also in its people which mean food, music, language and every around them; i was in Kenya for 6 months and Tanzania for 8 months.
Cool earrings.
LOOL…you can't believe it, but it is my dream to go to Africa and work there as a wild-life researcher.
well, you have to expect to get exhausted by the intense heat and lots of flies and other insects..and you better not have a fear of these creatures, and more importantly big cats…
but man, you can't just describe the pure spectacle of African Savannah in words. a Safari would be an experience you would never forget, but if you go there, try not to stick to rules too strongly..go have a walk in the bush for yourself ( in the safe area of course ) and explore the magic and beauty of the nature on your own..you will be privileged to be there.
then, at night, just sit on a hot rock and listen to a male lion, roaring in the distance..
hope i meet you there some day..lool..Joke
