So you want to visit Europe. Well you do not have to spend a fortune on your dream vacation. Flying to Europe can be as inexpensive as flying almost anywhere else if you keep a few tips in mind.
First of all if the time of year is not important to you, try and pick a time that is more off season. You will find flights to Europe much cheaper during the winter months than you will during the summer. If you are concerned about sight seeing during this time don’t. There is actually more to do there during the fall and winter than there is during the summer with all of the wine festivals, and the skiing and so on.
The first stop should always be your local travel agent when you are looking for good cheap flights to Europe. These travel agents work pretty much the same way as the internet travel sites. However your local travel agent can personalize your flight more to your liking. Make sure to compare prices at all of your big travel websites such as Travelocity and Orbitz. You will find that their discounts will usually be much cheaper than what you can get on your own. Remember to have all of your information such as dates and numbers ready so that you can fill in the forms. If you are a student, check with the airlines and see if they have any special student discounts. Almost every city that has a large college will have agencies that are set up just to handle special student discounts. If you are planning on traveling with a group, make sure you ask about group discounts. Most airlines will give group discounts, however, they aren’t going to offer these cheaper prices unless you ask for them.
Another way to get cheap flights to Europe is get with a chartered flight. Now most chartered flights will offer the full package. You will get a hotel, meals, sight seeing trips and more. But, if you are only interested in the flight, they will usually discount the package and you will end up with a cheap flight. You can find these charter agencies in most any city in the world.
When planning your trip look for cheaper flights into other cities or even countries. Traveling within Europe is very inexpensive by train. So if you find, for instance, that it is much cheaper to fly into Amsterdam that to Frankfurt and your final destination is going to be Frankfurt, you can save hundreds of dollars taking the train the rest of the way. Not only will this save you a lot of money, but it will also make the trip a lot more fun. Riding the trains in Europe is not like riding them in the U.S. You will meet some very interesting people and have a great time in the process.
So as you can see, getting cheap flights to Europe is not a difficult task at all. All it takes is a little bit of research and planning.
Help answer the question about cheap flights
Where is the best place to find cheap flights?I live in California and will be going to school in NY. Needless to say, the flights are EXPENSIVE. Anyone have some advice on how to find cheap flights online? Thanks!
ive been on the a330 and the a320 both very fast airplanes also ive been on v austrailia there fleet are boeing 777
there is one site I always use and that is
http://www.faredetective.com you just enter your travel dates and select the sites you want to check for cheap airfare and it will give you pricing.
Just last month I bought r/t airfare to Ukraine for under $1000 on Orbitz plus if you go through Orbitz you get a price assurance if anyone buys a ticket lower then you. You get a check in the mail.
jetstar is good i went twice last weekend and wasnt that disappointed but virgin top national airline in aus
Depends where in Europe, to where in US. Martinair and LTU often have good specials, but if you don't live near Amsterdam or Dusseldorf, then those aren't much good for you.
http://www.ebookers.com is good, and http://www.farecompare.com and the airfare searches at http://www.kelkoo.com (choose your country at the bottom, then select the airfare search–it will compare many sources simultaneously); http://www.bookingbuddy.com is similar.
Air France and KLM are offering the lowest rates for Beijing/Shanghai to Europs return for as low as RMB 3955. Check it out on :

Flew on jetstar and Virgin Blue. Jetstar is way better than virgin.
From NYC, you can get to Liverpool from $507 (25jun-30jun). http://www.flyglobespan.com — from Liverpool to London, http://www.megabus.com fares from 1.50 GBP.
Well obviously…
A Ultra-low-cost airline isn’t meant to give good service…
You get what you pay for!
i onceflew on jetstar from singapore to Bangkok.jetstar’s wonderful
It was proposed they may go to Greece when they got 787’s because the airport fee’s are low.
However in recent times, due the lowering of the USD while the Euro stays high, the trend for Australian tourism has been away from Europe towards the USA. So i think you will find they will travel to North America before anything else. I doubt Jetstar will go to Europe in the foreseeable future. Plus I don’t think low cost has much market share, especially on long 20 hour flights.
I have always found cheaper fares from travel agents. I've had better luck with them than internet sites.
Good luck.
The site which I see most recommended (both for flights to and flights within Europe) is http://www.skyscanner.net/
It picks flights (with online updated info) from many different airlines
Also you can search by month rather than having to pick a date, and also by country to country rather than picking a city
These options are really helpful when checking out prices
Actually they are
They were voted the best
hmmm… glad your not flying the plane
I had luck buying tickets off of skyauction.com You might also try buying frequent flyer miles from someone who doesn't use them. I bought a roundtrip ticket to Italy for $300 that way. I bought them from an E&Y executive who travelled heavily for work. The last thing he wanted to do in his free time was get on an airplane. The best thing to do there is ask family and friends if they know anyone who travels a lot for work. Good Luck!

A couple of excellent sites for budget flights within Europe are: http://www.whichbudget.com/ and http://www.skyscanner.net
The first one identifies the cheap flights into, out of, or between cities and provides links to the airline websites where you can check schedules and prices. I usually check both whenever I plan to fly here.
The skyscanner site has a feature that allows you to see the lowest prices between a pair of cities day by day over the whole month.
