When examining all of your options, you may want to visit a Hawaii travel website. These are websites that allow you book your Hawaii trips online, but they are also ones that specialize solely in Hawaii trips.
When examining available vacation rentals, including Hawaii vacation homes, it is important that you examine location, cost, size, and features. Location is important, as it will help you find a rental that is conveniently located near what you want to do and see. Size is important, as you will want to ensure that you and your traveling party are able to comfortably fit in your Hawaii vacation rental. Cost is important, as you do not want to overpay for a vacation rental. Booking a stay at an affordably priced vacation rental will enable you to spend more money on your Hawaii activities.
While cost, features, location, and size are all points that you will want to take into consideration, there is one thing that you will not want to overlook. That is Hawaii vacation rental pictures. Most reputable vacation owners and travel websites will provide you with pictures of all vacation rentals. In fact, you should be able to see at least three vacation rental pictures. These pictures are important, as you should never make reservations for a rental that you have yet to see for your own eyes, even just in pictures.
As nice as it is to hear that you should examine Hawaii vacation rental pictures, you may be wondering what the importance of doing so is. Unfortunately, many vacationers mistakenly believe that all Hawaii vacation rentals are picture perfect. While most are, there are no guarantees. If you are looking to have the Hawaii trip of your dreams, you should choose the vacation rental that is perfect for you and your needs. One of the best ways to do so is by examining pictures. They enable you to know exactly what you will get and there shouldn’t be any surprises or disappointments later on.

Even if you have your heart set on a Hawaii resort stay, you may still want to take the time to examine Hawaii vacation homes, condos, villas, and even apartment rentals. You may be surprised and pleased with what you find.
Help answer the question about hawaii vacation
How much does a Hawaii vacation cost?I want to know about how much a vacation to Hawaii for two people will cost, Its me and my soon to be husbands' vacation?
This is what I have found.
Kona Village Resort is a relaxing all-inclusive luxury getaway on the Big Island of Hawaii, ideal for families and honeymooners who want to get away from it all. The resort is offering a Limited Special Internet Offer with daily rates from $590 per night for two guests.
The second link will get you more rates but they need to know when you will be traveling etc.
I prefer the Pacific Beach Hotel. I have stayed there four out of six times. It is not cheap, but it isn't the Hyatt either! It is a 3* hotel.
You should check out the Ohana Hotels on Expedia.com You might get a good one.
You could learn to surf from the Beach Boys, hike Diamond Head, go to the Arizona Memorial, tour the island by bus, eat at Dukes Canoe Club, or eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise, or for a less expensive place to eat, try Seaside Bar and Grill, that is on the corners of Seaside and Kuhio Ave on Oahu.
Numerous attractions to see (including the above mentioned), go to Dole Plantation, Iolani Palace, go see Dog the Bounty Hunter at his office.
No, it is not necessary to rent a car. You can get a four day Discovery thebus pass at any ABC store. It costs $20.00 for four consecutive days and you can get on and off any of the TheBus busses during those four days! It is a very good deal!
You can get your sunscreen at any ABC store instead of bringing it with you. Clothing is like summer wear (whatever you wear during the summer (no black clothing), flip flops, tshirts, no formal wear (they wear relaxed clothing there).
The Pacific Beach Hotel (Oceanarium Tower), has a buffet breakfast that is really good. You can eat there, and then not have to eat again until supper time!! It has a 280,000 gallon "fish tank" at this hotel. You can eat while watching the fish!! It is pretty cool!
The rooms have either two double beds or a king size bed in the rooms.
I hope this helps you!!
The first time visiting Hawaii a cruise is good because you can see 3 or 4 islands & pick where you would like to stay next time. Saves a lot of time packing, unpacking, going to the airport, waiting for security, check in, check out etc.. Then again you can just stay in Napili Bay on the beach & use a hotel or condo as your home base. Condo's are much more cost effective having a kitchen/refrigerator in your room. You can pack lunches to take with during the day & nothing like sunset BBQ on the beach watching a Hawaiian Sunset. http://www.napilikai.com/

Hi (:
Well I live in hawaii and I believe Maui or Oahu would be the best.
Maui doesn't have a lot of people and Its beautiful! ^_^
Oahu is crowded, but also very lovely and tons of nice hotels.
It has more buildings and places to shop; depending on what you like^^
on oahu there's also a Atlantis submarine, where they take people out on a boat in the middle of the ocean and
you get to ride in a submarine and see all the fishs, sunken planes and stuff. its really cool.
oh and the big island is nice too, it has more of a country vibe theres horses and chickens everywhere
If you wanna see volcanoes then the big island would be a good choice [:
Beach is great. Hotel swimming pool too. Honolulu has an aquarium, a zoo, and a ocean discovery center for kids. Walk around to the different hotels and see what they have that your child might like to look at – like the Hilton has penguins and ponds and does a fireworks show on Friday nights.
And, if you walk around Waikiki at night you can see street performers – like giant teddy bears and caricaturists and musicians. Lots for little ones to look at
And sea life park has a few hands on exhibits where kids can touch baby turtles sometimes, and hermit crabs – stuff like that.
That sounds like a great time to visit the islands. I'm sure you already know to avoid travel during any holiday as rates go up everywhere on the planet.
Since you have 5 children with you I would recommend staying at one of the larger resorts who now have programs for the kids. Your 12 and 14 year old are probably not going to be interested in the same things as the younger kids, but some things are great for the whole family, like the historical tours.
Regardless of where you decide to stay maybe consider hiring a local tour guide. The cost of the guide will more than pay for itself. Just book a guide through the resort, travel agency, or through Maui.net. There are so many free and fun things to do but most are not on the tourist maps. If they were then it wouldn't be free anymore. A local guide can show you the places that local go. I am actually surprised that nobody has recommended this yet. Do not accept any guide who just approaches you are the airport or on the beach. On Maui this might be safe but in Honolulu the crime rate is just as high as any other major city and yes they do target tourists.
Anyway, Maui is my favorite island. Lahaina has all the historical sites, plus there are plenty of beaches you can go to like the park at Kihei, dive shop right across the street to rent a few masks and fins. The kids can take turns swiiming right off that beach where there is almost no current so it is fairly safe and you can see so many tropical fish, just swim right along with them. Get some of those little inflatable arm bags for the younger kids. A guide can also arrange a trip up to Haleakula park where you can go down into the crater of you like. You could rent a car and make it yourself but you would miss so much.
The only problem I see is for your 4 and 5 year olds who are just a little too small to avail of a lot of the activities. This is why one of the larger resorts who have programs for the yound kids would be a great choice.
Anyway check out http://www.maui.net to find a guide or the best prices on hotels, resorts, everything you need. This is a local website run by some guys right in Kahului, Maui..
I honestly don't think you can have a bad time on Maui though. But do be careful in Honolulu where there is crime just like any other big city. I would get off of that island as soon as possible as all of the other islands are pretty safe. Honolulu is also a port city so plenty of shady characters around. Maybe contact Hapa Travel in Maui when you get there for more info about getting around the islands.
Have a great time

My husband and I went to Oahu Feb. 2008. I rented our car online when I booked our flight, and also booked our sunset dinner cruise online and the day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. We took $2000 cash with us to have and we used pretty much all of it on food, souvenirs, gas for the car, etc.
i would try funjet.com
